Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer Screening

Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer Screening

Grindhouse Dublin, in association with Light House Cinema, are thrilled to announce our first film of 2015, the controversial 80's horror, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

This harrowing 1986 shocker pre-empted the serial killer genre boom, which would find favour in wider, popular culture during the 90's. Unlike Hannibal the Cannibal, however, Henry was the authentic real deal, based (however loosely) on the bloody exploits of Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole. Detached from any sense of humanity, Henry (the always captiviting Michael Rooker), was a monster unlike any other seen on a cinema screen during the 80's, embarking on a spree of mass murder, simply to pass time...

Both critically acclaimed and equally controversial, this bold, unflinching horror, had numerous run-ins with the censorship boards for over four years until it finally saw a proper release in 1990, Grindhouse Dublin will be showing the film for the first time on an Irish cinema screen fully uncut! Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, will be screened at Light House Cinema, Smithfield on Friday 30th January at 10:45pm! Tickets €9.00 - Students €7.50
